SB Nation’s FanPulse voting results for Week 5 have been updated and as expected, fan confidence in the Atlanta Braves dipped slightly after the bullpen struggled during a sweep at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks. While there has been an outpouring of complaints on social media in regards to Atlanta’s bullpen situation and their lack of moves to fix it, our voting results show that fan confidence in the overall direction of the team has remained strong. Eighty four percent of the voters this week are confident in the direction of the team which is down slightly from 92 percent the week before but is really close to the 85 percent from the opening week of the season. Confidence dipped to 63 percent after the opening sweep in Philadelphia but has otherwise remained strong and constant.

We are seeing similar trends in regards to confidence in the performance of manager Brian Snitker as well who comes in at 76 percent this week. That is down slightly from 79 percent the week before but it has largely remained consistent over the last three voting cycles.

This week’s FanPulse national question touched on the touchy subject of intentionally hitting a batter and whether it was ever ok to do so. Sixty percent of the vote said no it was not ok to ever intentionally throw at a batter which is a little bit lower than I was expecting.
