Braves vs. Rockies Lineups: April 9th, 2019

No matter how much evidence suggests it is time to make a change, Snit gonna remain the same.

It seems common sense may still be taking a back seat to comfortable structure for Brian Snitker. It would seem that of all places, Coors Field would be the place where you would want to maximize your offensive potential. That means giving your best hitters the most plate appearances. If you are not going to do that with RAJ, it makes sense to do it with Ozzie Albies, not Ender Inciarte.

On the Season, in terms of wOBA, Inciarte has produced a .313 mark, while Albies has a .393 mark. In terms of OPS vs RHP, Inciarte has a .674 mark and Albies has a .817 mark. Personally, ten games is a big enough sample size for these numbers to have validity. For Snit, that does not seem to be the case. I get wanting to extend the lineup; I do not get giving arguably your 7th best hitter in the lineup the most plate appearances.

For the Rockies, it is a bit of a surprise they are not giving a start to Mark Reynolds against a southpaw. If Fried can get pitcher’s counts against Story, Arenado, and Desmond, it could significantly improve his effectiveness. That begins with a high success rate on first pitch strikes.

Here are the line-ups for tonight’s game:
