The MLB All-Star game could be headed back to Atlanta. In an interview with Tim Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Braves president and CEO Derek Schiller said that the organization expects an announcement to be made soon and that they feel really good about their chances.

“We continue to feel really good about it, and we expect there will be an announcement at some point in time soon,”

Per the AJC report, the Braves have been working behind the scenes to secure a bid to host the All-Star game at SunTrust Park. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred spoke glowingly of the Braves’ new home and The Battery saying that SunTrust Park had “revolutionized the process of stadium development” last summer. They submitted a bid for the 2020 game but that went to Dodger Stadium instead.

Atlanta has hosted the MLB All-Star Game two other times, once in 1972 at Atlanta Stadium which was later renamed to Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and in 2000 at Turner Field.
