Mike Soroka came up to bat in a scoreless game with one out in the top of the third inning of today’s game in Washington. Then this happened.
RHP Mike Soroka was removed from the game as a precaution after being hit on the right arm.

Mike took a fastball to the inside middle of his forearm. He pinwheeled the bat away in disgust. He remained in the game to stand at first while Ronald Acuña and Dansby Swanson batted. But he was removed between innings. Soroka was relieved by Josh Tomlin. It is believed this is precautionary. Talking Chop will update this situation as needed.
With Newcomb out for a concussion, Gausman out for plantar fasciitis, and Foltynewicz out for a broken slider, the starting pitching corps for the Braves is being depleted. Good vibes sent your away, Canadian Maddux.
UPDATE: X-rays are negative.
X-rays on Soroka’s forearm were negative. He won’t start in Folty spot Thursday, but could take his regular turn Friday.
