Phils slug past Braves, keep pace in WC race
The Braves threatened on multiple occasions late in the game, but were unable to catch the Phillies, who led throughout en route to a 9-5 win. Julio Teheran and Anthony Swarzak each struggled mightily, while the offense came up short of tying the game in the eighth inning before Philadelphia extended their lead to ice the victory.
Braves activate Grant Dayton, place AJ Minter on 60-day injured list
The Braves placed one left-hander on the IL while activating another on Thursday, as AJ Minter will miss the remainder of the season with shoulder inflammation. Grant Dayton will take his place in the bullpen down the stretch.
