A five-run fourth inning was the difference for the Atlanta Braves and Dallas Keuchel in a 5-4 loss to the Phillies in Tuesday’s series opener. The Braves tried to rally late with home runs by Adeiny Hechavarria and Adam Duvall but it wasn’t enough.

Braves cautiously optimistic for Ender’s return

The Braves are hoping to activate injured outfielder Ender Inciarte before next week’s series in Kansas City. Inciarte took batting practice and tested his hamstring on the field prior to Tuesday’s game.

Betances had spent the entire season on the injured list due to shoulder and lat injuries. He struck out two in an inning of work in his debut but suffered the injury while celebrating his second strikeout.

Phillies outfielder Corey Dickerson will miss the remainder of the season after he was diagnosed with a fractured navicular bone in his left foot.

Nats manager Martinez to miss series with Cards

Nationals manager Dave Martinez underwent a heart procedure on Monday and will miss Washington’s series in St. Louis. Martinez experienced chest pains in Sunday’s home game against Atlanta.

Yanks’ Stanton to be activated in next two days

The Yankees are planning to activate outfielder Giancarlo Stanton on Wednesday or Thursday. Stanton has appeared in just nine games this season due to a variety of injuries.
