Acuña reaches 40 homer mark as Braves knock off Phillies, 5-4
The Braves snapped a three-game losing streak and reduced their magic number to one with a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Mike Soroka allowed two runs over five innings while Ronald Acuña Jr. launched his 40th home run of the season.
Acuña is now the youngest player ever to record a 40 homer, 30 steal season. He is just three steals away from joining the 40-40 club.
Drew Waters and Ian Anderson named Braves Prospects of the Year by MLB Pipeline
MLB Pipeline named Drew Waters and Ian Anderson as the Braves’ Prospects of the Year on Thursday. Waters enjoyed a breakout season at the plate while advancing to Gwinnett. Anderson also ended the year at Gwinnett and posted a 3.38 ERA in 26 combined starts.
