FanPulse: Which team will be the biggest postseason let down?

We are just over a week away from the end of the regular season and the start of the 2019 MLB Postseason. This week’s national FanPulse question asked which team will be the biggest letdown in the playoffs. The choices included the Braves, Astros, Dodgers and Yankees. When I saw this I figured that the Braves would win this in a landslide so I am a bit surprised by the results.

Thirty-six percent of FanPulse voters selected the New York Yankees while 34% had the Dodgers. New York would have been my pick for this as well largely because of their starting pitching situation but I am a little surprised to see the Dodgers receive that many votes as well. Atlanta came in third at 24% while the Astros were at 6%. What does it mean? I’m not sure but perhaps the Braves have turned a few heads with their performance this season and are seen by some as legit threat in the playoffs.

Fan confidence for among our FanPulse voters remains strong. For the fourth consecutive week, 99% of the voters said that they are confident in the direction of the team. Looking back over the season this was as low as 58% in Week 6 but has otherwise remained strong and has gained strength as the season has gone on.

Confidence in manager Brian Snitker also ticked up this week jumping from 89% to 93%. Snitker has been at 85% or above for five consecutive weeks. Interestingly enough, Snitker’s low mark for the season was also in Week 6 but was still a respectable 71%.
