How to watch Tuesday’s Hall of Fame announcement

Voting results for the 2020 National Baseball Hall of Fame class will be announced Tuesday evening live on the MLB Network. This year’s ballot features 14 holdovers from last year’s ballot along with 18 newcomers. Candidates need to receive 75 percent of the vote to gain induction. Those receiving at least 75 percent of the vote will join former catcher Ted Simmons and MLB Players Association chief Marvin Miller who were voted in by the Modern Era committee during the Winter Meetings.

Former Braves outfielder Andruw Jones is among the holdovers on the ballot. Per Ryan Thibodaux’s Hall of Fame tracker of publicly revealed brackets, Jones has seen a significant uptick in support in 2020 but remains a long way from election.

Also on the ballot is former Expos and Rockies outfielder Larry Walker who is in his 10th and final year on the ballot. Derek Jeter headlines the first time candidates and looks like the only player guaranteed to gain election.

The announcement will be televised live on the MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.com with coverage getting underway at 3 p.m. ET. The announcement is scheduled to be made shortly after 6 p.m.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Sunday, July 26 at 1:30 p.m. ET in Cooperstown.
