One of the big highlights of Chop Fest was Alex Anthopoulos taking the stage and discussing the offseason and the upcoming 2020 season for the Atlanta Braves. Anthopoulos touched on a number of topics including seeing Josh Donaldson leave for Minnesota and pivoting to Marcell Ozuna. He also discussed Atlanta’s outfield picture after the addition of Ozuna and many more topics from the bullpen to the rotation.

Anthopoulos also stopped by the Fox Sports South set where he touched on a variety of topics. Up first was looking back at the 2019 season and how the team went into the offseason with a focus on upgrading the bullpen with the addition of Will Smith.

Anthopoulos also talked about the signing of Marcell Ozuna and the decision to go with a short one-year commitment.

Anthopoulos also talked about the addition of Cole Hamels on how he fills the team’s need for a veteran starter.

He also talked about the team’s situation at third base where Johan Camargo and Austin Riley who are both looking to win the job. Anthopoulos also talked about how hard both Camargo and Riley have worked this offseason to get ready for the upcoming season.
