Every game from now until the end of the season is unquestionably the most important one, for every team and every player on it.
Case in point - tonight’s Braves-Dodgers game could result in a series tie, ostensibly making the series a best of three; or, tonight’s game could see the Braves one victory away from the World Series.
With that much at stake, it should be a tense match-up. Then again, so was last night, so...
ANYWAY, it all hinges on the two hurlers, Bryse Wilson and Clayton Kershaw, who are about as polar opposite as you can get in postseason experience. This will be Wilson’s first postseason appearance - not just start, but appearance - whereas Kershaw will be deployed for the 35th time (28th start) in his career. The back spasms that kept him from making his Game 2 start will be worth keeping an eye on, as will his velocity which started to taper off during his most recent start against San Diego.
After yesterday’s implosion, it would be nice to see the Braves come out confident against Kershaw. Even if he has done his best to buck the narrative that he cannot perform in the postseason, he didn’t earn that reputation for nothing.
Regardless of what happens with the game, we want to spend every waking moment with you fine folks, so stick around tonight in our comments section.
We were feeling so excited that we went ahead and prepared these for you:
