As the world continues a unilateral effort (aside from Florida) toward stopping the spread of COVID-19, the start of baseball season has been pushed back on more than one occasion. Major League Baseball announced on Monday that, in accordance with CDC recommendations, has moved back their expectation for Opening Day. Over the weekend, the league announced that Memorial Day would be a hopeful estimate, but it now appears that the league will refrain from committing to a firm date. Multiple sources mentioned the possibility that Opening Day could be pushed back to July, but without concrete details those speculations will remain as such.
