The Atlanta Braves announced their first roster cuts of the spring on Friday trimming 13 players from their camp roster.
Atlanta optioned RHPs Jasseel De La Cruz, Jacob Webb, Bryse Wilson and Huascar Ynoa to Triple-A Gwinnett. The team also reassigned first baseman Bryce Ball, LHPs Thomas Burrows and Kyle Muller, RHPs Kurt Hoekstra and Connor Johnstone, Outfielders Trey Harris and Greyson Jenista, catcher Carlos Martinez and infielder Braden Shewmake to minor league camp.
The Braves now have 55 players remaining in spring camp including 36 of their 40-man roster.
Bryse Wilson is probably the biggest name in this round of cuts that could see time at the major league level in 2020. The Braves brought Jacob Webb along slowly this spring after his 2019 season was cut short due to an elbow injury. Bryce Ball made a solid impression in his first big-league camp and will be one of the more interesting prospects to follow throughout the season.
