Tuesday open thread

And Question of the Day

Chicago Cubs v Pittsburgh Pirates

Good evening all. This is your Talking Chop open thread for Tuesday. You are free to discuss (just about) anything in any thread. But I will ask a question of the day. The question of the day is what was your first Braves game in person? I will go first.

Mine was July 2, 1991. We sat in the right field stands of Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. The stadium wasn’t full like it would be two or three months later, but it wasn’t empty like the bad old late eighties. Terry Pendleton hit a bomb to straightaway center. Mike Bell hit one of his two career home runs. It landed about five rows in front of us. Down four runs with two outs in the eighth, Otis Nixon stole second base. Then he stole third on the next pitch. The fan next to me muttered “meaningless base.” But we had hot dogs and peanuts and Braves baseball so he could not harsh my buzz.

Happy Tuesday, everybody!
