This Day in Braves History: June 10
1918 - Boston Braves right-hander Dick Rudolph throws a one-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over the Reds. It is the second straight day that the Braves held Cincinnati to just one hit.
1931 - Rabbit Maranville goes 4-for-4 at the plate with two walks and five runs scored in a 13-4 win over the Cardinals.
1961 - The Braves tie the National League record with a total of 14 home runs with at least one in three straight games as they defeat the Cubs 9-5 at Wrigley Field. Milwaukee homers five times in the win including two by Lew Burdette and one by Eddie Matthews.
1972 - Hank Aaron hits a grand slam that is home run No. 649 which moves him into second place ahead of Willie Mays on the career list. It was also Aaron’s 14th grand slam tying Gil Hodges’ NL record. The Braves would route the Phillies 15-3.
1996 - Jeff Blauser goes 5-for-5 at the plate but the Braves fall to the Mets 8-3 as Todd Hundley drives in five runs for New York.
