It finally looks like baseball is once again right around the corner. The 2020 season won’t look like anything we have seen before but given the circumstances, any baseball is better than no baseball. While a shortened season will be a challenge, the Atlanta Braves appear to be well positioned with a deep roster.
That thought is echoed by Dan Szymborski’s updated ZiPS projections that were updated Wednesday morning over at FanGraphs. The projections have the Braves and the Nationals both finishing with a 34-26 record and finishing at the top of the NL East division three games ahead of the New York Mets and four better than the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves’ division odds are slightly lower than the Nationals at 31.3 percent.
Other projected division winners include the Cubs and Dodgers in the NL and Yankees, Twins and Astros in the AL. The Dodgers have the best odds to win the World Series at 9.7 percent. The Braves are at 4.9 percent.
