Yasiel Puig tests positive for COVID-19, signing halted at least for now

The outfielder has said he’s completely asymptomatic but has tested positive

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Cleveland Indians Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been an absolutely wild ten minutes as newly signed OF Yasiel Puig has informed everyone the he has tested positive for COVID19.

Puig states in the tweet that he is asymptomatic and feels absolutely fine but can not join the team until he passes the mandatory two COVID19 tests. Safe to say he is unlikely to join the team for opening day as he has not been able to work out with the team, and was late to sign with a team, but it is fantastic news that he is not facing any of the devastating symptoms and is high spirits and looking forward to his return.

Puig has not officially signed with the Braves and it’s fair to assume everything will be delayed due to the results.

According to Ken Rosenthal, Yasiel Puig will not be signing with the Braves.
