Amidst all of the Braves’ rotation problems, it has been somewhat easy to overlook that in addition to losing 80% of their starters, they also have been without two of their best lineup regulars in Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies. Their absence combined with the starting pitching woes has been, well, a perfect storm of terrible.
Fortunately, the Braves shared some good news regarding Ronnie and Ozzie as both appear to be progressing and Ronnie could be back as soon as Monday. Nothing is certain because both Acuna’s and Ozzie’s wrist ailments are very much day by day type things and don’t come with specific timetables, but Acuna not going on the IL was always encouraging and it sounds like Ozzie has had some pain-free dry swings to build off of.
Will these two returning solve all of the Braves’ problems? Nope...but it would be a bit of good news that has been sorely lacking for the last week.
