After initially saying that he might be able to return Monday, the Atlanta Braves placed outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10-day injured list Saturday. Acuña came in Saturday and was still experiencing soreness in the wrist and the decision was made to keep him out of action longer. The earliest he would be able to return would be next Friday. The team recalled right-hander Chad Sobotka to take Acuña’s spot on the roster.

Brian Snitker informed the media Saturday of the decision to place Acuña on the injured list and reiterated that he hadn’t suffered a setback and that it was just a matter of not rushing him back. The Braves are hoping that by disabling him now and giving him a few extra days that the rest won’t be an issue for the remainder of the season.

Ozzie Albies is continuing to progress and is picking up the intensity in his rehab. He did some soft toss in the cage Saturday. Matt Adams was slated to do pregame activities at Gwinnett Saturday before BP was rained out. Both could be on course to be activated at some point next week.
