Everyone who was hoping to see Tucker Davidson on Tuesday will have to wait a little longer. The Braves announced their pitching plans for their upcoming series against the Washington Nationals Sunday and it was not what many were hoping for. Touki Toussaint and Kyle Wright were penciled in for Monday and Wednesday with a TBA on Tuesday’s game. That led to speculation that it might be a good time for someone like Davidson to make his major league debut. However, Snitker announced after Sunday’s game that it would be Josh Tomlin who will make Tuesday’s start.
While it still feels likely that we could see Davidson and Ian Anderson at some point this season, it may be a little further off. After having 20 games scheduled over the first 20 days of the season, the Braves will now have three off days over their next 11. That will give them the opportunity to give an extra day of rest to some guys and reset their rotation.
Max Fried would line up with Friday’s series opener against the Phillies. Toussaint could come back on Saturday or the team could opt to give another look to Robbie Erlin who tossed four scoreless innings on Sunday.

Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu was placed on the injured list Sunday due to a sprained left thumb. The team will seek a second opinion on the injury but are confident that the injury won’t require surgery.
