The Atlanta Braves have announced the return of Matt Adams to the club while also announcing that pitcher Chad Sobotka finds himself back at the alternate training site.
The #Braves today reinstated INF Matt Adams from the 10-day injured list after optioning RHP Chad Sobotka to the alternate training site at Gwinnett following yesterday’s game.

While some may have expected slightly different transactions the return of Matt Adams on a team that is struggling mightily with depth is a step in the right direction. Matt wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire - hitting .212/.235/.424, good enough for -.2 bWAR, but the roster is rather thin due to injuries so any kind of depth on that bench is a sigh of relief.
Chad Sobotka finds himself back at the alternate training site yet again but has pitched admirably in normally low leverage situations compiling a line of 0.00 ERA in three appearances (3IP), three hits, two walks, and one strikeout.
The Braves are set to face off against the Washington Nationals tonight and it will be interesting to see how Brian Snitker incorporates Matt - if he does at all.
