Braves recall Alex Jackson to the roster

He fills the spot from Bryse Wilson being sent down a few days ago

Roster moves, roster moves, get your Friday afternoon roster moves right here:

In case you’re wondering why there’s no corresponding move — it’s because Bryse Wilson was optioned back down a few days ago.

This move lets the Braves employ Travis d’Arnaud or Tyler Flowers (but probably just d’Arnaud) as the DH without worrying about the needlessly-dreaded “last catcher available gets hurt” situation. They had the option of recalling another arm, but Chad Sobotka’s 10-day waiting period from his most recent optioning hasn’t expired yet, and the Braves seem loath to add another 40-man pitcher to the active roster. (Though, hey, they could add Patrick Weigel and not use him... again.)

Jackson has had 7 PAs on the season in which he’s had a single, a double, and four strikeouts.
