This Day in Braves History: August 3
1990 - The Braves trade two-time NL MVP and fan favorite Dale Murphy and Tommy Greene to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for Jeff Parrett, Jim Vatcher and Victor Rosario.
1996 - Atlanta defeats the Dodgers 5-3 in 18 innings. Rookie pitcher Brad Woodall picks up his first victory with 2 2/3 innings of hitless relief.
2001 - The Brewers edge the Braves 3-2 winning on a wild pitch by Jose Cabrera in the 11th inning. In the game, the Brewers pass the two-million mark in attendance for just the second time in franchise history. While the Braves were in Milwaukee, they broke the two million mark each season from 1954 to 1957.
2011 - Dan Uggla extends his hitting streak to 25 games with a single and a three run home run in a 6-4 win over the Nationals. Uggla was hitting just .173 on July 4 but raised his batting average 42 points while hitting 11 homers and driving in 23 runs during the streak.
