Jhoulys Chacin Outrighted to Alternate Training Site

Chacin’s second tenure for the big league team didn’t last quite as long as he had hoped

MLB: Atlanta Braves at New York Mets Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Braves have announced that Jhoulys Chacin has been outrighted

This comes despite the Braves desperately seeking stability in the rotation with seemingly three spots up for grabs. Unfortunately for Chacin, one of those spots will not be going for him as he is no longer with the big league team.

Chacin appeared in two games for the Braves and pitched five innings where he had a 7.20 ERA, a 5.40 K/9 rate, and 5.40 BB/9 rate and a meager 16.7% GB%.

The Braves will likely replace Chacin with Will Smith in the near future to help sure up a bullpen that already currently ranks third in baseball in fWAR.
