The Braves, coming off a tough loss to the Mets which also saw the loss of Mike Soroka for the season, look to get on track against the Blue Jays who have been off the last four days because the Marlins did their best to infect the Phillies...probably.
The Braves had won five straight games before their loss yesterday, so a win tonight would be a continuation of a good run for the Braves which, given the shortened season, would portend well for making the playoffs this year. One hopes that the events of yesterday don’t turn into a downward spiral of sorts.
While the lineup has the same cast of characters albeit in a slightly different configuration, the bullpen does have a different look to it for tonight’s game. With Soroka headed to the injured list, the Braves made a couple of roster moves. Chad Sobotka and Huascar Ynoa were added to the active roster while Chris Rusin was designated for assignment. Rusin came in to relieve Soroka and, as a result, wasn’t going to be available for the next few days anyways. With the Braves pitching staff under siege, the move to send him was likely a necssary one to get some fresh arms in before the roster crunch sets in.
Join us as we discuss the game as it unfolds as well as collectively mourn the loss of Soroka for the year...or just to complain about the things that bother us. Just remember to be kind and if you can’t act right in the comments, you need to go elsewhere.
