The Atlanta Braves announced a roster move prior to game one of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Phillies. The team activated left-hander Robbie Erlin and optioned reliever Chad Sobotka following Saturday’s game. Sobotka will however stick around as the team’s 29th player for the doubleheader.
The #Braves today activated LHP Robbie Erlin (No. 49) to the club’s active roster after optioning RHP Chad Sobotka to the club’s alternate training site following last night’s game. The club also appointed Sobotka as the 29th man for today’s doubleheader.

The Braves claimed Erlin off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier this week. Erlin made two appearances with the Pirates this season where he allowed five hits and two runs in 3 1/3 innings to go along with four strikeouts. He will add some length to the bullpen on Sunday.
Sobotka made his second appearance of the season in Saturday’s game allowing a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning. He will likely stick around on the team’s taxi squad for the remainder of the road trip.
