Austin Riley delivered a walk-off single that scored Ozzie Albies to give the Atlanta Braves a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLCS. Riley hit a solo homer in the fourth that tied the game. He and Albies combined for four of Atlanta’s six hits on the evening. Max Fried allowed eight hits but just two runs over six innings.

- Atlanta announced its roster for the NLCS featuring 12 pitchers and 14 position players. The only changes were Chris Martin and Johan Camargo replacing Dylan Lee and Terrance Gore.
- The Dodgers went with 13 pitchers and 13 position players for their NLCS roster. David Price and Billy McKinney were dropped from the roster and replaced with lefty reliever Justin Bruihl and right hander Evan Phillips. Injured first baseman Max Muncy was also left off the roster.
- The Braves also announced that Ian Anderson will start Game 2 Sunday. That means Charlie Morton will get a couple of extra days of rest and start Game 3 in Los Angeles.
- The Dodgers announced their rotation plans for the series with Max Scherzer slated to start Game 2 Sunday, Walker Buehler and Julio Urias will start Games 3 and 4 back in Los Angeles.
ALCS News
- Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez both hit grand slams to help the Boston Red Sox even up the ALCS with a 9-5 win over the Houston Astros Saturday.
- Houston right-hander Luis Garcia exited Game 2 in the second inning Saturday due to right knee discomfort. Garcia’s status for the remainder of the series is unclear.
- The Astros will start Jose Urquidy in Game 3 in Boston Monday.
- An MRI exam showed no structural damage in Lance McCullers Jr’s elbow. He was diagnosed with a flexor pronator muscle strain and his availability for the World Series should Houston advance remains in question.
