Braves open as World Series underdogs against Astros.

The Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros will face off in the 2021 World Series which will get underway Tuesday, October 26 with Game 1 at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The Braves punched their ticket to the Fall Classic Saturday night defeating the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6 of the NLCS. The Astros also needed six games to get past the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS. This is the first time Atlanta has been to the World Series since 1999. Houston will be making its third World Series appearance in the past five seasons.

The early series line has the Astros as favorites to win the series. Houston won 95 games during the regular season winning the AL West. They defeated the Chicago White Sox in the Division Series and rallied to win the final three games of the ALCS after falling behind 2-1.

The Braves famously got off to a slow start in 2021 but have been a different team in the second half. They overcame injuries to Mike Soroka and Ronald Acuña Jr. while securing their fourth straight NL East title. They used some dominant pitching and timely hitting to dispatch the Milwaukee Brewers in four games in the NLDS before knocking off the Dodgers.
