2021 World Series Predictions: Who will be World Series MVP?

We made our picks for who will win the World Series earlier today. You can find those here if you missed them. Up next is who will be named World Series MVP. DraftKings Sportsbook has Yordan Alvarez and Jose Altuve as the favorites although Freddie Freeman has the best odds among Braves players. Here are our picks for who will take home the trophy.

Who will be World Series MVP?

Kris: If the Braves are going to win this then there is really only one way to go. It would be fitting for Freddie Freeman to lead the way in his first World Series appearance.

Ivan: Woe unto those that stand before whatever the hell Eddie Rosario is doing right now and dare not to tremble.

Stephen: The LF short porch in Houston makes me think a RH hitter could have the same type of series Eddie Rosario just had. And the Braves best right-handed candidate is easily Austin Riley. But baseball is beautifully random and I wouldn’t be surprised if Jorge Soler mashed this series.

Eric: Eddie Rosario is playing out of his mind, but gimme Austin Riley in what turns out to be a signature performance of his young career. The Astros’ pitching staff isn’t great and Riley is a guy that can punish mistakes with the best of them.

DJourn: Jorge Soler takes advantage of the DH and stays in the lineup when the Braves return to Atlanta. His play after missing time with COVID adds to the story.

Daniel: I was going to try to be original and say Jorge Soler before I looked above me and saw him mentioned twice. Freddie Freeman is an obvious choice that nobody has mentioned yet, but I’ll take Austin Riley, who I think is going to absolutely mash this series. It would be supremely cool to see Tyler Matzek somehow go full Death Star and win it though.

Demetrius: After we saw NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario happen, who in the world knows? If the Astros win, let’s go with Carlos Correa. If the Braves win, Freddie Freeman getting MVP would truly cap off the storybook ending for this team.

Dillon: Charlie Morton. The Atlanta rotation is set for the series, with Morton getting the nod in Game 1. He could set the tone for the Braves while revisiting the mound that helped shape his late-blooming dominance. I’ll say the right-hander earns a victory in both Game 1 and Game 5, sealing the deal against his former team.

Wayne: Steve Pearce, Ben Zobrist, David Freese and Edgar Rentaria have all shown that you don’t need to be a big name to win this award. I’m going with Dansby Swanson. His defense has been sharp, and he’s streaky. If he gets into one of his heaters this week, the Braves are in good shape.

Matt: I think we see too much offense in the series to predict a pitcher. With that said Freddie would have been the easy choice, but I think Ozzie Albies comes up with a huge series and wins the MVP as he tries to prove to the world that he’s the better of the two smaller stature second basemen facing off and trying to win one for Ronald Acuña Jr.

Cassidy: My gut says Austin Riley because I don’t think the Astros are going to let Freddie Freeman or Eddie Rosario beat them. He’s been so clutch I don’t see that changing with two strikes and two outs he’s been at his best that’s where games are won and lost in the playoffs. Dark horse Candidate is Travis d’Arnaud because he destroyed the Marlins in the bubble in that ballpark with good muscle memory.
