The Atlanta Braves have set their roster for the 2021 World Series with a couple of surprises. Right-hander Kyle Wright and outfielder Terrance Gore were included on the roster while reliever Jacob Webb and infielder Johan Camargo were removed. The Braves will carry 12 pitchers, two catchers, six infielders and six outfielders.

PITCHERS (12): RH Ian Anderson, RH Jesse Chavez, LH Max Fried, RH Luke Jackson, LH Dylan Lee, RH Chris Martin, LH Tyler Matzek, LH A.J. Minter, RH Charlie Morton, LH Will Smith, LH Drew Smyly, RH Kyle Wright

CATCHERS (2): William Contreras, Travis d’Arnaud

INFIELDERS (6): Ehire Adrianza, Ozzie Albies, Orlando Arcia, Freddie Freeman, Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson

OUTFIELDERS (6): Adam Duvall, Terrance Gore, Guillermo Heredia, Joc Pederson, Eddie Rosario, Jorge Soler

Wright made just two appearances at the Major League level in 2021 allowing seven hits and seven runs in 6 1/3 innings. He spent the rest of the time in Gwinnett’s rotation and finished the season strong allowing 26 hits and 10 earned runs over his final six starts which totaled 39 innings. He had 38 strikeouts and just 10 walks over that stretch. The loss of Huascar Ynoa opened the door for Wright who will likely serve as a multi-inning relief option.

Gore was on the team’s roster for the NLDS against the Brewers but was dropped during the NLCS in favor of Camargo as the team stocked up on bench options. Camargo went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the NLCS. With the DH in place for four of the seven games, the Braves won’t need as many pinch hit options and could afford to carry Gore who will serve as a late inning pinch running option.
