Trevor Bauer’s headed back to Southern California, where he’ll pitch in front of home fans less than 20 miles from where he was born and less than 40 miles from where he pitched as an amateur (Hart High School, UCLA).
Meanwhile, Marcell Ozuna isn’t headed anywhere, at least not for the moment. One wonders whether there’s anyone else really vying for his services at this point, or whether he’s just having an epic staring contest with the Braves. It’s not that there aren’t a bunch of teams that would benefit from having him... they just don’t appear to be hovering in his orbit.
So, as usual, we’ll see.
By the way, good on Mike Foltynewicz for getting $2 million in payday after his travails. Meanwhile, Travis Demeritte has been DFAed by the Tigers and could likely be had for an embarrassing karaoke rendition of “Mo Money Mo Problems.”
