The Atlanta Braves will make another trip to Fort Myers, Florida Friday evening for a matchup against the Minnesota Twins. Sean Newcomb will make the start for Atlanta while Kenta Maeda is the Twins’ scheduled starter.
This will be Newcomb’s first start of the spring after working four games in relief. He has allowed three hits and one run over four innings to go along with two walks and five strikeouts.
Maeda will also be making his fifth appearance and he has been excellent. He has allowed just five hits and one run over 14 1/3 innings to go along with 18 strikeouts and just one walk.
Atlanta’s bench competition will be front and center Friday night with most of those in contention in the lineup. Ender Inciarte will lead off for the Braves and will be playing left field. Cristian Pache gets another start in center and will be hitting seventh.
