Cristian Pache and Max Fried placed on IL. Guillermo Heredia and Tucker Davidson recalled to Atlanta

Braves rough fortune to start season continues with two main pieces played on the IL.

The rough start to the season for the Atlanta Braves just got a lot tougher after starting center fielder Cristian Pache, and starting pitcher Max Fried were placed on the 10-day injured list the Braves announced today.

Because Max just pitched yesterday the Braves have recalled Tucker Davidson to Atlanta to seemingly help with bullpen depth for the next few days before Max’s next scheduled start. When that comes you may see the team turn to Bryse Wilson to take on that spot in the rotation while Max works his way back from injury. Tucker made his debut last season but pitched just 1.2 innings and gave up seven runs (two earned), walked four, and struck out two.

The Braves also announced they will be recalling outfielder Guillermo Heredia to Atlanta to take the roster spot left by Cristian Pache. Guillermo has appeared in 397 games in his major league career and has hit .239/.316/.344 across five seasons. Guillermo hits left handed pitching significantly better - to the tune of a .274/.337/.397 line, while Ender Inciarte has hit .284/.338/.400 against right handed pitching so you may see a bit of a platoon at play over the next few games while Pache works back from injury himself.
