Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Atlanta Braves. Ronald Acuña Jr. exited Saturday’s game against the Phillies after he was hit by a pitch in the hand by Sam Coonrod.

Acuña slammed his helmet in frustration and was clearly in a lot of pain. He was helped to the dugout by the team’s training staff and was taken for further examination.

Acuña hit a game-tying home run off of Coonrod back on April 11. Saturday’s at-bat was the first time he had faced him since.

UPDATE - X-Rays on Acuña’s left pinky were negative and he is considered day-to-day. The Braves dodged a big bullet here.
