Mississippi Braves Manager Wyatt Toregas Resigns

No replacement has been named yet.

Trustmark Park

In a rather shocking turn of events, and maybe shocking is a bit dramatic, the Mississippi Braves have announced that manager Wyatt Toregas has resigned from his position as manager of the Mississippi Braves the team has announced.

At this current time no replacement has been named, and instead the current staff will take over the managerial responsibilities. Mississippi was 18-15 and two games behind first place coming into tonight with a game against the Biloxi Shuckers slated for today at 7:35 PM EST.

The news does come as a bit of a shock, however, because he was named manager of Mississippi just back in March of 2021. Wyatt had been working as a coach dating back to 2012. During his playing career Wyatt had two stops in the majors including a 19-game stint for Cleveland back in 2009, and three games for the Pirates in 2011.

As we learn more we will update the story.
