We are closing in on the Trade Deadline for the 2021 season and reports suggest that the Atlanta Braves are still interested in adding to their roster before Friday’s deadline. Atlanta already added one outfielder in Joc Pederson and reportedly had interest in a reunion with former outfielder Adam Duvall per a report by MLB Network’s Jon Heyman. However, apparently the Marlins weren’t interested.
Braves made a bid for former Brave Adam Duvall, who has 5 HR vs. them this season. But Marlins either didn’t like the offer or don’t love the idea of trading Duvall to a divisional rival.

I am sure that the Braves are casting a wide net and have considered a ton of options, it isn’t surprising to hear of their interest in Duvall. Atlanta has lost its entire outfield from Opening Day and has been forced to piece things together. Duvall is hitting .229/.275/.481 with 22 home runs in 90 games. In true Duvall fashion, nine of those home runs and 27 of his 68 RBIs have come in 15 games against the Braves and the Cubs.
The Braves non-tendered Duvall this past offseason as estimates suggested that he would get a salary in the neighborhood of $5 million through arbitration. Atlanta reportedly had interest in bringing him back but he instead signed a deal with the Marlins that was worth $5 million guaranteed. His 2021 salary is for $2 million and the deal also contains a $7 million mutual option for 2022 that includes a $3 million buyout.
