As expected, the Atlanta Braves have activated Ian Anderson from the 10-day injured list and he will start Sunday’s series finale against the San Francisco Giants. To make room on the active roster, the Braves optioned Edgar Santana to Gwinnett.
The #Braves today returned RHP Ian Anderson from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list after optioning RHP Edgar Santana to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game.

Anderson has been solid in his first full season in the Majors for the Braves. He has made 18 starts while posting a 3.56 ERA and a 3.59 FIP in 96 innings. He allowed four runs and lasted just 2 1/3 innings in his last outing back on July 11 in Miami. He was later placed on the injured list due to inflammation in his throwing shoulder. Anderson made four rehab starts for Gwinnett while building himself back up for his return.
Santana has appeared in 36 games for the Braves out of the bullpen and has a 3.82 ERA and 3.93 FIP to go along with 31 strikeouts in 37 2/3 innings this season.
