It’s a new-look lineup, but it’s the same guys that have started recently, just reshuffled a bit.

If I told you last year that there would be a game where Adam Duvall and Kris Bryant would both be playing center field, would you have said I was insane? It’s also a new-look lineup for the Giants, who haven’t used any batting order more than three times this season. How’s this for a sign of the times? Darin Ruf, with a 149 wRC+ and .252 ISO is batting leadoff. This is the first time the same eight guys are taking the field for the Giants in this arrangement as well, given that Bryant in center has only been used a few times.
Not much history between these two starters and their respective opposing teams, other than what happened a few weeks ago in Atlanta, so let’s skip right past that and go to the Statcast graphic!
That’s a terrifying San Francisco attack, with Tommy La Stella’s .331 xwOBA higher than that of four position players in Atlanta’s side. It’s not going to be easy for Ian Anderson, but we’ll see what happens.
