After a two-game absence, Luke Jackson will rejoin the Atlanta Braves in time for Sunday’s series finale against the San Francisco Giants. Jackson was placed on the paternity list prior to Thursday’s rainout against the Colorado Rockies. To make room on the active roster, Atlanta optioned infielder Orlando Arcia back to Gwinnett.

Jackson has bounced back nicely from a subpar 2020 season. He has appeared in 63 games and has a 2.09 ERA and a 3.50 FIP along with a 27.8% strikeout rate in 56 innings. His return will give the Braves another high leverage right-handed option for the remainder of their road trip.
Arcia was recalled from Gwinnett when rosters expanded on September 1 at a time when Ozzie Albies was banged up after taking a foul ball off his knee. He recorded one hit in 12 plate appearances during this latest stint on the active roster. Arcia has appeared in 31 games on the season for the Braves and is hitting .181/.231/.278 overall with two home runs in 78 plate appearances.
