Austin Riley finished a triple shy of the cycle while Ian Anderson allowed one run over five innings to help the Atlanta Braves to a 7-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Atlanta scored five runs in the first against Cardinals’ rookie Andre Pallante and never looked back. Matt Olson finished with two hits while William Contreras added his 10th home run of the season.
Thanks to a Mets loss to the Reds, Atlanta is now just 2.5 games behind the New York Mets in the NL East standings.
