As can be expected, not much is going on in Braves country and the MLB Playoffs continue to roll along. But of course, that means there is some fun and exciting baseball being played, with Monday perhaps awaiting as the best day of all.
Game 7 of the ALCS is likely the headline after the Rangers proved superior on Sunday in a 9-2 victory while facing elimination in Game 6. Each game of the ALCS so far has been won by the away team. The winnier-take-all Game 7 will put Christian Javier of the Astros against Max Scherzer of the Rangers. It does not get much better than a Game 7 with a World Series birth on the line.
In the NLCS, the Phillies have the chance to make it back to the World Series for the second straight season. Contrary to the ALCS, the home team has won four of the five games in the NLCS. And with Aaron Nola on the mound at Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia has to confident it can book its ticket to the Fall Classic tonight.
- Current Padres Manager Bob Melvin has been given permission to interview with the San Francisco Giants about their open managerial position.
- Astros reliever Bryan Abreu was suspended for two games following Game 5 after throwing at Adolis Garcia. Abreu appealed the suspension and pitched in Game 6, but his hearing will will be done before Game 7. This will determine his availability for Game 7 and beyond.
- Starter Tyler Glasnow of the Rays could be in line to receive a sizeable extension this winter even though he is already under contract for 2024.
