After a few quiet days, the Atlanta Braves made a move that brought a couple of new faces to the clubhouse. Pitcher Ray Kerr and DH Matt Carpenter were acquired from the San Diego Padres in exchange for Drew Campbell, a minor league outfielder. The Braves also received $1.5M from the Padres.

Kerr, with just 29 major league games under his belt, is expected to stay in Atlanta as a bullpen piece. Carpenter, however, had a subpar 2023 and is still owed a hefty salary next season, so his stint with the Braves is expected to be very brief.
