Braves News: Travis d’Arnaud, Ignacio Alvarez season reviews, hot stove, and more

A quiet Tuesday for the Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves had a very calm Tuesday on the news front. The release of Matt Carpenter was made official on the transaction log, which ended up being the only newsworthy event of the day. There is still plenty of time before the holidays, though, so I don’t expect the Braves to go quiet just yet.

Braves Notes:

Our 2023 season in review series continues with Travis d’Arnaud and minor leaguer Ignacio Alvarez.

MLB News:

The New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, and Toronto Blue Jays are among clubs interested in right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The Dodgers have reportedly considered presenting a deal that ranges from $250-300M.

The San Francisco Giants have acquired outfielder TJ Hopkins from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash or a player to be named later. 26-year-old Hopkins was designated for assignment by the Reds last week.

The San Diego Padres are reportedly nearing a deal with left-hander Yuki Matsui.

The Kansas City Royals avoided arbitration with left-hander Kris Bubic. The starting pitcher will make $2.35M in 2024.

The Oakland A’s officially announced their one-year, $1.5M deal with reliever Trevor Gott.

The Pittsburgh Pirates and Andrew McCutchen have reportedly agreed to a one-year, $5M deal. The deal is pending a physical.
